The Story of GamerGate;

One time, a girl had sex with a bunch of people who weren't her BF, and the BF doxxed everything. The blog post he made exposed Kotaku's Nathan Grayson as one of her lovers. Long story short; the people who can't get the sex they want were (still are actually) SUPER-MEGA PISSED that this woman they don't know cheated on this dude they also don't know. So women are bad, and video games are good, so...gamergate.

Wait, I can do better than that; remember when you were a kid, and all your other male kid friends would play in the tree house, and then a girl would come and want to play too (probably your sister, that insufferable tagalong) and you all didn't want her to? Gamergate is that, only instead of hanging a sign outside that says 'no girls allowed' and calling your sister a poopy head, you threaten to kill her.
